Godzilla Back on The Big Screen

Godzilla returning to the big screenLast year, Bloody-Disgusting got word that Legendary Pictures, the production company behind The Dark Knight, 300 and La Resaca, were interested in bring Godzilla back to the big screen. Well, today officially announced that it has bought the rights and Legendary will be working with Warner Bros. in another Godzilla film (there have been 28 in total over the past 50 + years).

The last fight was big for Godzilla 1998 with director Roland Emmerich 2012. The film made nearly $ 400 million worldwide, but was destroyed by critics and most of the general audience. It was fun, but stupid. Cloverfield in 2008 showed that people were still interested in monster movies (if they were good) as it made nearly $ 200 million, with a single budget of 25 million dollars. I think you can have the kids Cloverfield Legendary Pictures Godzilla think again.

Nothing much is known at this time, although Warner Bros. apparently intended for a 3D version in 2012. While there are a lot of movies being released or converted into 3D when you really need not be a Godzilla movie is done well can be quite epic in 3D.

Are you interested in seeing another Godzilla movie?
